The Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie on Monday, 16th of February, 2026 toured some facilities on Campus. The unscheduled visit took the Vice-Chancellor and his team to the University’s Medical Centre, Management and Information Communication and Technology Unit (MICTU) and the Digital Library.
At the Medical Center, the VC was received by the Ag. Director of Medical Services, Doctor Emmanuel Umenweke who took the VC round some facilities and offices at the center. The Vice-Chancellor’s visit was necessitated by his resolve to seeing things by himself and to ensure that students and staff healthcare are accorded the necessary priorities. The Vice-Chancellor stressed the need for improved services as the Ag. Director assured him of the commitment of his staff to getting things done.
At the Digital Library, the Vice-Chancellor approved for the Installation of 2 units of 12.5KVA Solar power in parallel in each hall to enhance the operation of the computer sets, air-conditioners, fans and other electrical gadgets used by the staff and students. This was done in line with his drive to improve the welfare of the students and staff of the Institution. The Vice Chancellor also approved for some structural works to be carried out on the landscape.
At MICTU, the Director, Prof. Ikechukwu Onyenwe and team took the Vice-Chancellor round the major offices of the Unit. The Vice-Chancellor assured of improved ICT while thanking the Director for living up to expectations and assured of a speedy take off of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy.
The Director of MICTU, Prof. Ikechukwu Onyenwe, Ag. Director, Information and Public Relations among others accompanied the Vice-Chancellor on these visits.
